Kalimath

This is known as Kalidasa, the birthplace of the most popular Sanskrit poet. This location is a Shaktipeeth, according to Hindu mythology. Shaktipeeth is basically a place or a temple that is worshiped by Hindu Goddesses. That is the place where Goddess Kali killed the demon Raktbeej. No idol is here. There’s nothing else that people worship other thanShree Yantra. There’s a stone in it. This pillar is called Prezhila. It is said that people used to take dead bodies here and bring them into the Pretshila in ancient times. Some water was taken from the nearby river to that dead body. It has been said that the dead body used to be alive for a few moments during this process. If we speak about this place ‘s principal puja, it will be given one day each year. The deity is pulled away and the puja is given. At the time of this puja the only person present is the priest.

Roopkund

Roopkund must be mentioned when we talk about the Uttarakhand and its mythical stories. Roopkund ‘s story is not only popular throughout Uttarakhand but throughout the nation. It’s one of the most mysterious places to visit. You don’t have to really believe anybody because the whole knowledge and reality can be seen in the naked eyes. There have been many skeletons and everyone could see that. These skeletons are definitely human, but some are still longer than 7 ft. They are also unexplained. Once there was organized by a local king, a party is said. Call was made of singers and dancers. The local goddess did not like that and she brought the town in an immense storm out of wrath. Because of it, all people died.

In addition, according to the Hindu mythology, the deity wanted to purify itself when Parvati and Shiva, after the demon’s annihilation, went to Kailash. Then, with the aid of its Trishul, Shiva created a ‘kund’ or lake for his companion to bathe. During a dive into the water, Parvati saw and was intrigued by her beautiful reflection. The lake was then renamed Roopkund.
