Having nothing to do but be in our house , most of the people might be wondering and planing to get back on their travelling hobby as soon as the lock down terminates. So, if you love visiting hills traveling and exploring mountain peaks , here are some places you can travel in Uttarakhand.

Saru Tal Trek(4,200m)

Saru Tal Trek is a walk to holy water of Sar Lake in the western part of Uttarkashi district of the State of Uttarakhand and an elevation of 4,200 meters. It’s a mild nine to ten days trek that begins at the base camp in Sankri. The Saru Valley is located in an area where the temperature is nice and cold during the day. At the begining of the journey, you will experience the majestic waters and the unexpressible wonders of Himalayas.

Baraadsar Tal Trek (4,400m)

One Of the few excursions done in The Himalayas in The Baraadsar Lake Trek. It is located in the north-east region of Uttarakhand Between the Rupin Valley And Supin, close to the Himachal border to east and then to south. It begins in the Rupin Valley through  many villages in the forest and finally over the mountain , with excellent panoramic views of the the Rupin and Supin Valleys.

According to local information, there is no response to prayer to Gods on Lake Baraadsar ! At Sankri, the climb to lake begin from the villages and dense forest , which fradually reaches the ridge between the valleys of Rupin and Supin. This tour provides a spectacular view of the Greater Himalayas – Swargarohini , Kalanag and Bandarpunch and a panoramic view of Lake Baraadsar. The climb ulminates in a 4,400 meter point on a ridge before reaching the mesmerising Baraadsar Lake.

Devkyara(4,100m)

Dev Kayara is a high altitude meadow in Uttarakhand , Sankri. Situated parallel to thr Har ki Dun Valley at 4,100 meter altitude between the Rupin and Supin Valley, Dev Kyara Trek’s massive 4 Km long wetland will be encountered. The Dev Kyaya is simple and gives the tourists the chance to explore Ranglan , Dawdu, Black Peak, Kedar Dome and Swargarohini to one of the most unspoiled and virgin trails of the West Garhwal Himalayas with stundorous viewes of th Himalayan area. This Walk will take you through two pristine areas of the Gharwal Himalayas, namely the Obra-Gad Valley and the Dev Kyara Bugyal.

Kedartal (4,750m)

Also known as Shiva’s Lake , Kedartal is a glacial lake located at an altitude of 4,750 meters in the Garhwal region on Himalayas. The lake is fed by snow falls across Thalay Sagar , Meru , Bhrigupanth and other surrounding mountains.Kedartal is a popular hiking destination at a distance of 17 Km from Gangotri. It is the source of Kedar Ganga , the contricution of Shiva to Bhagirathi in the Hindu Legend. Kedartal also reflects Thalaysagar’s peak flawlessly. Thalaysagar is known as the most beautiful mountain after Shivling Mountain. Both of them belong to the class of Gangotri. This is the second trek from Gangotri following Gamukh Tapovan. And even in tempting views, it’s not behind.

 Satopanth Lake Trek (4,600m)

The Satopanth Tal is 22 Km ahead of Badrinath, located in the middle of snow-capped peaks at an altitude of 4,600 meters. The highlights visible along the way are Balakun Peak , Kuber Top, Mt. Nilkantha and Mt. Swargarohini. For the local people , the lake is considered a sacred one, inhabitants of the village of Mana throw The ashes of the dead into the water.

Many assume that an on auspicious day in the lake the Trimoortis ; Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh, are baths. Some bird species , which collect the containmants of the lake and thus keep the lake clean , are also found there. The local belief is that they are the Gandharvas , who protect the lake from evils. These birds are not found anywhere.
